Game has insanely good wheel support as well, similar to Assetto Corsa. LFS also has car damage, if you hit buildings or other cars, you get visual damages on your car. Drifting in Live for Speed PC game with steering wheel in todays live for speed 2022 PC gameplay! Playing in 4K resolution with max graphic settings using a Re-shade graphics preset. Drifting a bmw e36 mod which is available to download from the in-game live for speed mods page. (Mods can now be downloaded in game with an S3 license of live for speed.) This is my second time ever playing Live for speed. Its a really great game and the devs are still supporting with updates and content. The physics are amazing and I would describe them as a slightly more forgiving assetto (Other than you not being able to disable tyre wear!). The sense of speed is great and the engine sounds just make it even better for some fun skids! You can download a free Live for speed demo first to test your pc requirements and get a feel for the game.

Live for Speed is a racing sim most of us will have heard of, played and likely cherished. It was created by just three people yet contains advanced features like VR, tyre deformation and mechanical failures. The sim is lauded for its accurate physics, finding favour with many professional racing drivers – including a certain Valtteri Bottas. The game also has a passionate community and covers a breadth of diverse motorsport disciplines, including autocross, drifting and rallycross. The sim was designed to be online racing-friendly from the outset, with popular ‘cruise’ servers still attracting many players to this day. Lately, mods have added a whole new element of choice and variety to the game, with other features such as day/night transitions and weather still in the works. (Let’s not mention the Volkswagen Scirocco though, eh?) Entering its third decade of development, we try to answer the question: is Live for Speed still as relevant now as it was 20 years ago? First time playing this free game and I was really surprised how good the physics are. We even have crash damage effect on cars after impact. Steering wheel support is really good as well. I will be drifting more in Live For Speed for sure in the future. In a sim racing world obsessed with online head-to-head competition, Live for Speed set the standard. Upon its release in 2003 it was revolutionary for focusing entirely on online racing. Unlike its contemporaries, LFS featured easy to join servers with a built in browser. Never before had online racing been so easy and accessible. Coupled with the most accurate physics seen to date, LFS was most's main sim for many years. Over the years LFS has stagnated while the sim racing world moved on, but out of seemingly nowhere the developers of LFS have released vehicle modding to the sim, kickstarting a wave of new content for us to enjoy. I never quite found the stock content compelling, but now with some modded vintage cars, LFS deserves another look... We're going right back in time and looking at Live for Speed (Demo Version)! LFS came out 18 years ago in 2003 and is still receiving minor updates today! I thought it would be good to have a look back at the origins of sim racing and how far we've come since then, and I was actually really impressed at the way this sim drove! We took the XR GT (Kind of an FC RX7) around Blackwood (which is a fictional track from Live for Speed) and many fun times were had, with some particularly funny AI reactions! Is Live for Speed still popular? Short answer no, but there are still a dedicated group of people playing and supporting this sim, so we had to have a go and see what it's like! Let me know if there is any interest in picking up the full version of this to look at the cars/tracks on offer in more detail, or if there are other classic sim racing games you can recommend, let me know and I will have a look!
