Use Essential Sound to Enhance Vocals in Adobe Premiere Pro In this Sixty Second Tutorial we look at using the in-built 'Essential Sound' editing feature in Adobe Premiere Pro to enhance vocals in your audio. We cover the following... 1. Essential Sound is an incredibly powerful tool for doing sound work within Premiere. 2. To open the essential sound window go to Window - “Essential Sound”, this may open as a pop out window but you can also drag and place it in your workspace for ease. 3. Click to select the audio clip that you want to work on, and choose the type of audio you have, here we’re going to select dialogue. 4. Firstly under the loudness tab the Auto-Match option can be used to match the audio to the loudness level across your video. 5. Under the repair tab there are several options to help clean up your audio. Clicking the tick box next to the option will add the respective effect to your clip and you can then use the slider control in Essential Sound to fine tune it. Here we have control over reducing background noise, rumble, hum, high-frequnecy ess-like sounds and reverb. 6. There are several other options too, for basic vocal audio clean up you may want to consider increasing the clarity and potentially enhancing the speech to suit the voice in your clip. 7. As a final note for ease, you can right click and copy all the audio effects from your clip and use paste attributes to apply them to another clip.

First boost the low-end frequencies on EQ and remove some of the high-end tones.
