This is a comparison between an EMG GZR P pickup and the american stock special precision pickup. It was recored using my audio interface, no compression / eq, same strings. The bass is a 2011 american special precision. My honest opinion is that there is slight more treble on the stock pickup, you can hear that on the californication riff when I intentionally play a bit harsher / tapping the strings, the EMG does better at "removing" the click sound, but overall they are head to head, so it's a not a necessary upgrade, but I like the sound of the EMG better and I also got it as a gift :) I feel that EMG has a more "vintage" tone than the stock pickup. I think both are great pickups.
